A Portharcourt based estate surveryor and valuer with international recognition, Esv. Eko Ofem Bassey, ANIVS, RSV has welcomed the incumbent governor of Cross River State, Gov. Benedict Ayade to the All Progressives Congress (APC) party following the governor’s official cross-over from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, today in Government House, Calabar.
Eko Ofem who is the principal partner of EKO OFEM & CO, an estate surveyors and valuers firm based in Portharcourt, Rivers State told MoonRayNews shortly after the governor’s cross-over speech went viral that Ayade’s move was a right step at the right direction and as well as the rightful time, even as he stressed that this, no doubt has positioned APC in the state on the path of victory, come 2023.
In Surveryor Eko’s view, the factional misunderstanding in PDP as per who controls the party’s structure in the state would further deepen following Ayade’s walkaway; howthat, the likes of Former Gov. Imoke and Sen. Sandy Onor of Central Senatorial District would lock fresh horns as per who controls the party in the state. This, Eko said would place APC in a more advantageous position ahead of the polls.
As of internal party politics, Eko admitted that they will likewise continue in APC, but he believes that APC are more of a family than PDP at the moment and with a stronghold at the centre of things [Presidency], internal party misunderstandings can easily be resolved. He nonetheless advised all bigwigs in the party to align with the governor courtesy of his stake in Peregrino House.
Eko also seized the chat to call for a stronger get-together amongst partymen of the APC as he predicts that the party now has all it takes to coast in victory come 2023 — owing measurably to the power at the centre, National and State Assemblies members and Minister and now, an incumbent governor with thousands of appointees including Local Government Chairmen and their respective appointees across the 18 local government councils, plus over 106 councilors, and lot more, APC, he said will surely win 2023 very soundly.
